Wondering when the world will stop...

I ever wonder when the world will stop spinning. I feel as if I have been going non stop, but yet I have gone no where. I did not get the job that I had applied for. I suppose at least I tried. I don't know about what I am going to do about my job. The people are great, but I just get bored and off task.

Uurson lost his job. More like he quit his job. His boss called him a liar, and was only giving him a few hours a week. Mostly like 2-4 hours a week, at a wage he was making when he started with the company. His boss told him to take his job seriously. Uurson told him that "How can I take this job seriously? This is a hobby, not a job. I can't support my family like this." Then promptly left the building.

Matt's EEG went well, we got the siezure that we needed the first night. He got a few phone calls that basically stressed him out. So we just have to wait a few more months for his next appt. Other than that he has been having siezures every now and again.

Uurson had some tests done. His diabetic tests, and other random tests that his dr said that he wanted done. All of the tests came back good, but one. His HbA1c it was a 9 or something like that. So we are trying to eat right and getting exercising again. I would like to keep him around.

I have been stressed I suppose. I am the only one in the house that is working, with exception of LJ. But then again there is that stressor, she is currently driving the 86 camry. The thing has broken down on her not once but twice now. And yet she still wants the car, and title. Yet she has not paid us. I am not letting that blessed car out of my sight until I get money in my hand.

I have been debating about working the Puyallup fair this year. I worked the fair one year, during college. It was fun and hard work. But I just don't know if they would want me. I don't want to wear myself down. Although I wouldn't mind going to play on the rides. :) Although Uurson doesn't like them much. I haven't talked with him yet about this idea. But I don't know what we are doing anyways at that time. We plan to be moving at that time anyways.

Well I have bread baking, I should go. Wondering when the world will stop spinning around me.

Ambulatory EEG

So we have been trying to figure out what is causing Matt's seizures. He had surgery long ago to remove a tumor but that didn't cause that way back when.
Just recently we have been dealing with his seizures the worst was when he didn't even remember who he was. But now just trying to find out the cause and why he is currently having these problems has been a challenge.
We tried to get him to have a seizure in the hospital but it did not work very well, the did not get anything. So we are trying again for a seizure. Normally I would not wish a seizure on anyone but we need to know what is going on. So the dr said to put him on an Ambulatory EEG for the week. Well we just started that today. And Whoo hoo our first seizure. We believe that his seizures are stress related.

Well Here is to finding out what is going on.

Easter weekend

So our easter weekend started a little early. Easter weekend every year is Norwescon. This year was Bell Book and Dragon. Now Urrson is a huge dragon fan. So of course we wanted to make this a tradition every year.

So this year I took off Friday for the con. I got home thursday getting ready for the convention and figured that it is not a good idea to go thursday night. A little known fact about Norwescon is that this convention runs from Thursday afternoon until Sunday night. It is a convention of Science Fiction and Fantasy. Something that both Urrson and Myself are into. They always run it Easter weekend.

So we wanted to go that friday but we had a few errands to run before that. Urrson was sick, and didn't feel good on that friday, after searching for a half hour for a parking spot we decided that it was a good idea to just go home.

We decided that we would get up early on Saturday and go to the con. We left the house at 7am. We found a parking spot way down the pac hwy strip. Mind you this convention is near the Sea Tac Airport. So after finding said parking spot.. and fighting with the valet parking, (We don't like to valet our car) we decided that there was no where else to go.. and so we parked. We got out of the car and then promptly walked to the con.

We got there and needed breakfast, something about urrson being a diabetic. (Who knew??) So we ate breakfast... $30 !?!?!? I couldn't believe we spent that just for breakfast. Either way we then went go pick up our registration. We obtained my Reg packet but the other packet was not there.. we have to go up to the guest of Pro section. The Green room to get his badge. (I guess one year he was with a pro.)

We then walked around the dealer's hall to see if we could find a few purchases. We did find a few things. We then roamed the art hall. I bid on a piece of art and got it. Other than that we did go to a few panels ate lunch, then a few more panels then the masquarde ect ect ect.

Over all we spent 16 hrs at the con on sat. We did not get home until 2am. We got home and the promply fell asleep. We then got up early to go pick up my art piece. I was very happy. We then said bye to a few friends then we went to a movie. "Horton Hears a Who." Intresting movie Definately a kids movie though.

Other than that .. that was our weekend. I really wish I would have had a good camera but.. yet still I don't have one to my name. Eventually we will get one.
Well off I run now.

Help!! I need confidence boost!!!

Well at work they just posted an IT helpdesk position. Now you all know that I want to be in IT, sooo bad. I have been in a rut for going on 2 years now. I am bored. I tell my boss about it all the time. He gives me other jobs to do during the day to break it up.
I love my boss for doing this for me. But on the posting they said that only the best will get an interview. Now I first have to show off my skills. But I just don't have all of the ones they are looking for.

This is what I would be doing.

· Build and install new computer systems
· Maintain multiple computer images
· Troubleshoot and repair workstation hardware and software.
· Troubleshoot and repair general network connectivity.
· Level 1 Active Directory Administration
· Level 1 Microsoft Exchange AdministrationLevel 1 Telecom and Voicemail Administration

Of those things the stuff in orange is stuff I don't necessarly know. But I AM WILLING TO LEARN.

These are the qualifications they need

· One year of desktop PC, server and infrastructure hardware experience ( Does college count as experience as well I did some contract work with my husband's company)
· Windows NT/2000/XP use and professional troubleshooting experience
· Core MS office application experience (Office, Project, Visio etc)
· Demonstrated ability to rapidly adapt to changing situations and an ability to dynamically reprioritize workload accordingly
· Analytical thinking
· Attention to detail
· Proven problem solving skills (I don't know if it can be "Proven")
· Excellent customer facing skills
· Technical research ability ( I think I can find out the information. At least I know where I can find it)
· Ability to work effectively as a member of the team
· Some physical requirements such as lifting, moving, working under desks doing wiring etc.
· Ability to work a changing schedule as business requires it.
· Technical product & configuration knowledge
· Experience with desktop imaging solutions such as Symantec Ghost (I worked with this breifly in highschool)
· Experience with HP Openview HelpDesk system (Never worked with this in my life)
· Telecommunications experience
· Network experience including TCP/IP

So I guess I am asking for confidence here. Should I go for it? Or should I find something else?

How do you find one's self?

So how do you find yourself? I am not lost because I know where I am. But I just don't know where I want to go. We remember when we were young we all wanted to be a Police officer or a Firefighter. I have an idea of things I want to be but just don't know if I could fit in.

Some of the things that I would like to be.
  • Translator of ASL, French, and maybe Spanish.
  • Computer Network Tech (IT)
  • Laying cableing for Networks.
  • Educator, (teacher type person)

I have been thinking of what I wanted to be lately as right now I feel like I am in a rut. I love my job don't get me wrong, but sometimes I come home saying I wish I could do more. My passion lives with people and communication. I love people, to study them, to work with them, and just understand them. I just don't know where I am going. I feel like I am lost. Uurson says that it is normal to lose onself at my age. But really I don't like feeling lost. I don't like not knowing where I want to go.

Another part of me wants to be a perfectionist. That part of me is very disconcerning as my life is not perfect which I have just accepted as a fact. I just hope soon enough I can find myself. I just need to keep reminding myself that something will come up and say.. Pick me. I am what you want to do. Well I off till another day.

Car Trouble

In our household we have 4 cars to speak of, a pick up truck that is Zack's, an 86 Toyota Camry, a 95 Suzuki Sidekick and an 01 Toyota Echo. Now of those 4 cars, 2 of which actually run. The pick up truck and the Echo.

Now we know what is wrong with the Sidekick, and well the Camry that is kind of known. Both cars have been out of commission for almost a year now. The reason they were not attended to before is because we are your typical american family. We live paycheck to paycheck. I hate living like this, but during this time we had no money to spare. Myself and my husband were getting married at this time.

Well we got our tax return, (my tax return) and we spent it fixing our cars. We are planning on moving here soon and we are needing to downsize everything. I hate hauling and waiting for the last minute. So last weekend we started our quest to get the car fixed. The Sidekick was an easy fix, sorta. It was the starter about a 100$ fix. We got the starter and attempted to start the car. It didn't start. So we tried to charge the battery. But the battery was dead. It didn't want to start. So we bought a new battery. $70 fix. It started like a charm. I was thrilled. Especially since this car is my first car ever. I still need to get a day pass as the tabs expired, take it to emissions and get the tabs. Then after that I need to get the Intrument cluster. The price tag on that.... Unknown yet.

The camry on the other hand, it needed a new timing belt. So a friend bought it for us. (we have great friends) We then took the car apart to get it going then... we didn't have the right tool for the job. We had to go on the great hunt for the correct tool. Then finally after months, and months of searching and having the funds to get it together, we just bought the tool. It was a whole $17 after taxes. Now we have everything put together we tried to start it sat. It did not want to start, the battery was dead. This time it just needed to be charged. But it still won't turn over. So our friend is going to come over and fix the blessed thing.

Now in my case, I could care less if the Camry gets fixed or not, but LJ wants it fixed. She takes the bus like I do, but she is going to be working graveyard and would like some wheels. I don't blame her but the Camry has been stolen not once but 3 Times. It's electrical system isn't stable, and it is just not worth it. I want to call a junk yard to pick it up so that it can be toast. But I have to try to fix it as LJ thinks she wants it. She even says she will buy it from us. I perk my ears when I hear money in the situation. Especially since she doesn't even pay us rent right now.

My other car runs well and since Zack's car doesn't really count, we won't mention it much. Here is another day in the life of Kitty. We just say...Take it one day at a time.

Meeting the family

Well as I am planning on posting more regularly I should probably introduce our family.

Kitty~ This is me. I am currently a Quality Analyst for WDS Global. I listen to peoples calls and grade them a scale in which our contract requires. (lots of messed up worlds) I am a huge fan of Hello Kitty, and have the collection to go with it.

Uurson~ This is my husband. He is currently an IT admin for a small Insurance broker. He loves Dragons and doesn't do well with heat. He served some time in the navy as a result he can not deal with high temps, anything over 60 degrees. He is also a diabetic.

Matt~ This my Cousin-in-law. He is currently not working because of health concerns. He is one messed up puppy. He loves Orcas and Video games. Uurson and myself take care of him as at times he forgets to do it himself.

LJ~ This is my birthday twin. She is currently a human answering service. She loves art and crafts. She currently lives with us as her husband is paying attention more to WoW (World of Warcaft) than to her.

Zack~ This is our roomate. He currently does not work as he says he can't find a job. Soon enough he will not be in the picture as we are going to move on.

People you may hear about later on are as follows.

Mama Kitty~ This is my mom. She gets her own nick name.
Santa~ This is Matt's dad
Joe~ This is LJ's husband
Dad~ This is my dad.

Well this is our family and I hope you love reading about our life.
